A practice manager who has actually run clinics, John bridges the gap between IT and the day-to-day of a busy practice. He guides clinics through operations, RACGP accreditation, Best Practice training, and billing and MBS — the practice manager in the room, turning good IT into a better-run practice.
The practice manager in the room
Most healthcare IT providers stop at the technician. We go further — our Practice Success Lead, John McQue, is a practice manager who has actually run clinics.
From day-to-day operations to accreditation, training and billing, John brings hands-on practice-management experience that turns good IT into a better-run practice.

Our History
1994 — Humble Beginnings
CyberSquad was founded by university student John Drummond in Mount Barker. What began as a modest side venture — homemade brochures and driving around the Adelaide Hills fixing home computers — quickly earned a reputation for friendly, reliable service.
1995 — Stepping into Retail
CyberSquad opened Compustore on Norwood's bustling Parade, expanding into computer sales and in-store technical consulting — broadening the company's expertise and customer base.
Mid-1990s — Innovation in Tech Financing
Inspired by rental programs seen overseas, John pioneered IntelliRENT, an innovative financing option that helped more Australians access the latest computer technology — a hallmark of CyberSquad's inventive approach.
1999 — Focusing on Healthcare IT
Partnering with MIMS Software to advise medical practices revealed a vital need for IT specialists in healthcare. From 1999, CyberSquad devoted itself exclusively to healthcare IT — emerging as a leader in the field.
Early 2000s — Growth and Relocation
As the client list grew, CyberSquad moved to a larger facility in Melrose Park. With like-minded colleagues joining, the business began supporting more clinics and projects across South Australia.
2014 — A New Headquarters & National Reach
CyberSquad moved its HQ to Unley Road, Adelaide — symbolising its evolution into a national player, supporting clinics nationwide, including remote providers as far as Kangaroo Island.
2010s — Expanding to Tasmania
Growth took CyberSquad beyond the mainland with an office in Hobart's historic Salamanca Place. What began with a single consultant in a carport blossomed into a full branch serving clinics across Tasmania.
Today — Premier Health IT Consultants
CyberSquad is proudly Australia's premier dedicated healthcare IT consulting company. From King William Road in Unley, with a Hobart office and local teams in Sydney and the Gold Coast, our team of 20+ professionals supports 350+ medical practices nationwide — still led by founder John Drummond.
